Vexlyx vs CapRover

CapRover is one of the longest-running self-hosted PaaS tools in this space, lightweight, Docker-based, one-click app deploys, Apache 2.0 licensed. It's a reasonable choice if minimal footprint matters more than feature breadth.

Vexlyx covers the same core (Git-based Docker deploys, automatic SSL) and adds what CapRover's own site doesn't describe: mail hosting, authoritative DNS, WordPress/PHP support, and managed PostgreSQL/MySQL provisioning with Adminer.

Pick Vexlyx if

you want the deploy workflow plus the rest of what a server running a real business needs: mail, DNS, databases.

CapRover may fit better if

you specifically want the smallest possible footprint and only ever deploy containerized apps.

Not found means we did not find the feature in the vendor's own pages. It does not mean the product lacks it. Spotted a mistake? Tell us and we will fix it.

Plesk price is the Web Admin edition (10 domains) on a VPS, billed yearly. cPanel price is the Solo tier (1 account), billed monthly.

Dokploy licenses most of its code under Apache 2.0 and reserves a proprietary directory for future paid features.

Coolify and Dokploy also sell optional managed cloud plans. Self-hosting is free.

Questions

Is CapRover lighter-weight than Vexlyx?

Likely yes for a single-purpose deploy box. CapRover is built to be minimal. Vexlyx trades some of that minimalism for mail, DNS and database provisioning running on the same server.

Does Vexlyx support one-click app installs like CapRover?

Vexlyx deploys from a Git repo (Nixpacks or a Dockerfile) rather than a one-click app catalog. If you want a specific app running, you point it at that app's repo.
